Product Description

Remington Model 24 .22 LR Takedown Semi-Auto Rifle, 19 in Barrel, Bottom Eject, Walnut Stock (1920s–1930s)

This Remington Model 24 is a classic John M. Browning rimfire autoloader from the 1920s–1930s, built with a 19 inch barrel, steel receiver, and walnut furniture. It features the Model 24's signature takedown system with an external knurled adjusting ring, bottom ejection, and a tubular magazine housed in the buttstock. It is designed to use Standard Velocity or Subsonic .22 LR ammunition only.

Produced from 1922 to 1935 with approximately 130,420 examples made, the Model 24 is recognized for its fine longitudinal anti-glare serrations on the receiver top and its compact, well-balanced handling. This example bears Remington TRADE MARK markings and reflects the durable, all-steel construction and straightforward walnut stock and slim fore-end typical of the model.

    What's Included

    • Remington Model 24 semi-automatic rifle

The Model 24 is distinguished by its external barrel adjusting ring at the barrel/receiver junction, a defining feature that also identifies it as a takedown configuration. This mechanism allows precise barrel fit and has long been a hallmark trait of the model.

Feeding is via a tubular magazine in the buttstock, and cases eject from the bottom. The receiver top carries fine longitudinal anti-glare serrations, and the rifle wears a fixed front blade. This example is configured for .22 Long Rifle and is designed to use Standard Velocity or Subsonic .22 LR ammunition only.

Construction is traditional and robust, with a steel barrel and receiver paired to an uncheckered walnut stock and slim walnut fore-end. Length of pull measures 13.25 inches, offering a classic fit consistent with the era.

Cataloged in separate .22 Short and .22 Long Rifle versions that are not interchangeable, the Model 24 was produced in the United States from 1922 to 1935 before being succeeded by the Model 241. Approximately 130,420 were made, and this Browning-designed rimfire remains a noteworthy piece from the 1920s–1930s period, marked Remington TRADE MARK.
