This Antonio Zoli & Co. Buffalo Hunter is a .58-caliber, single-shot percussion muzzleloader built with a 26" heavy round steel barrel and a sturdy half-stock. Made in Italy for Navy Arms, it carries Gardone proof marks, a PN black-powder proof, and a clear "Black Powder Only" marking. Brass furniture with a solid brass buttplate, an inset brass patchbox (cap box) in the buttstock, and a 13.5" length of pull round out a classic, purpose-built sidelock design.
Condition
Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.
Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.
Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.
Specific Condition Notes: Widespread scratching and blemishes are present throughout. There is widespread pitting and patina on metal surfaces. Sighting components are incomplete; dovetail cuts remain. A hole has been drilled into the stock underneath the action. The bore is dark and blemished, though rifling remains visible.

The Buffalo Hunter is a single-shot percussion sidelock with an external hammer and a 1-round capacity, configured for .58 caliber black powder. The 26" heavy round barrel is steel and fitted with an under-rib and ramrod thimbles. Barrel retention is via a traditional wedge key.
The rifle wears a half-stock of wood with cut checkering and brass furniture, including a solid brass buttplate, an inset brass patchbox (cap box) in the buttstock, a plain brass trigger guard without a finger spur, and a brass forend cap and entry pipe. The under-rib carries steel ramrod thimbles. The length of pull measures 13.5".
While the model was set up for fixed iron sights, the current sighting setup is incomplete. The dovetail cuts remain.
Markings include Italian Gardone proofs, the PN black-powder proof, "Made in Italy," and "NAVY ARMS Co." The barrel is clearly marked "Black Powder Only," aligning with its intended use and proofing.
