Built in West Germany and imported by SIGARMS Inc., Exeter, NH, this P228 carries German eagle/N nitro proofs with the KD date code for 1993. The slide is marked MADE IN W. GERMANY, reinforcing its provenance and production era.
Its stamped carbon-steel slide with a pinned breech block and rear serrations reflects classic P228 construction. The compact, non-railed P-series frame uses a hard-anodized aluminum-alloy receiver to balance durability with carry-friendly weight.
The DA/SA, short-recoil, hammer-fired system incorporates an automatic firing-pin lock, decocker, safety-intercept notch, and disconnector. A spurred hammer and factory grip panels with P228 (right) and SIG SAUER (left) markings complete the original configuration.
Sighting is straightforward and effective with fixed high-contrast sights: a dovetailed front and a dovetailed rear, delivering a 5.7 in sight radius. The 3.9 in barrel uses a 1:10 twist for 9mm Luger, and the standard capacity is 13+1.
This example includes two 13-round magazines and one 11-round magazine, plus the original Sig factory case and P-series manual, making it a well-documented West German P228 from 1993 with matching frame and slide serial numbers.
