What’s Included
- Original box
This Third Model Dragoon follows the correct pattern, including a round trigger guard and rectangular cylinder stop notches with approach cuts. The unfluted, blued cylinder features the Ormsby "Ranger and Indian Fight" scene with a "COLT'S PATENT" panel, and the barrel is marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY" across the top.
The revolver is built as a cap-and-ball, single-action .44 with a six-shot cylinder and a 7.5-inch barrel. It uses a loading lever with a barrel-mounted latch, and a transverse wedge with a retaining screw, consistent with Colt Dragoon construction.
Sighting is simple and period-correct with a fixed blade front and a hammer-notch rear. The frame and associated parts are color case-hardened, while the barrel and cylinder wear a high-polish blued finish. It is fitted with a one-piece walnut grip.
This Signature Series (3rd Generation) production includes the series' "D" serial suffix convention and matching serial numbers across major components, reinforcing its place within the Colt Blackpowder factory program from the 1990s–early 2000s.
