This PPS is the Classic/M1 configuration, identifiable by its ambidextrous paddle-style magazine release integrated into the trigger guard. It is built on a slim polymer frame with interchangeable backstraps, and a spare backstrap is included. A single-slot accessory rail is molded into the frame for mounting compatible lights.
Chambered in .40 S&W, the PPS uses a short-recoil, locked-breech system with a modified Browning cam. The compact 3.2 inch steel barrel keeps the profile short while maintaining practical sight radius and reliability. Capacity is 7+1 with the included factory 7-round magazines.
Factory steel 3-dot night sights are installed, with H3-marked tritium front and rear units set in steel bases. A rear striker-status indicator and a loaded-chamber viewport provide at-a-glance status checks. The QuickSafe backstrap deactivation system is part of the M1 design.
Made in Germany at Walther’s Ulm facility, this pistol carries DE and eagle over N proofs, the Ulm antler, and the BB date code denoting 2011 manufacture. The left side bears the Smith & Wesson Springfield, MA import marking, consistent with PPS imports of this period.
