The Compact configuration features a 13.0-inch length of pull and a black synthetic stock with Ruger's Modular Stock System. The raised comb, textured grip and fore-end, sling swivel studs, and Power Bedding system provide a practical, stable setup.
The 18-inch sporter barrel is cold-hammer-forged, free-floated, and unthreaded with a plain crown. A user-adjustable Marksman Adjustable trigger and the bedding system contribute to consistent shot-to-shot performance.
Sighting options include a fiber-optic front ramp and a folding rear sight; the rear is present but currently obscured by the mounted optic. The receiver has integral 3/8 inch tip-off dovetail grooves and is drilled and tapped, with a Bushnell scope installed in tip-off rings.
The right-hand bolt uses a round knob for easy manipulation. Safety features include a two-position tang safety and a trigger safety blade. The rifle accepts Ruger 10/22-pattern BX-1 rotary magazines, with a 10+1 capacity and one 10-round magazine included.
