Product Description

Ruger Standard Model RST4 .22 LR Semi-Auto Pistol, 4.75" Tapered Barrel, Fixed Sights, 1963, Blued, Pre-A100, Box & Manual

This 1963 Ruger Standard Model, Catalog RST4, is the classic 4.75" tapered-barrel, fixed-sight .22 LR configuration made in Southport, Connecticut. It includes the original Ruger factory box with the correct RST4 4.75" end label, the factory booklet, and a Ruger 10-round steel magazine. Pre-A100 grip-frame features, heel-type magazine release, and black checkered grips with Ruger eagle medallions complete the period-correct setup.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Good - Clean, well-maintained, minor wear marks.

Bore Rifling: Good Rifling - Intact, well-defined lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: There is widespread rust and pitting across multiple surfaces. A large rust deposit is present on the barrel collar along with a large patch of discoloration. Rust and pitting are also visible on several smaller components.

    What’s Included

    • Original Ruger factory cardboard box with RST4 4.75" barrel end label
    • Ruger factory booklet: "Mark I Target Model and Ruger Standard Model" (Revised October 1, 1952)
    • One factory Ruger 10-round steel magazine for Standard/Mark I (heel-release type)

Cataloged as RST4, this Standard Model pairs a 4.75" tapered steel barrel with fixed sights for a clean, carryable .22 LR package. The upper assembly is blued steel, with a tubular receiver housing the internal cylindrical bolt—true to the early Ruger .22 design.

Mechanically, it uses a simple blowback, single-action system. The rear sight is an integral fixed notch in the receiver, and the front sight is a fixed blade on a banded base, providing a sturdy, sight-regulated setup typical of this variant.

The pistol retains the pre-A100 grip-frame configuration and a heel-type magazine release at the bottom rear of the grip frame. Black checkered synthetic grips with Ruger eagle medallions are fitted, matching the period and model details.

Markings include Southport, Connecticut rollmarks on both sides, aligning with the 1960s production era. Capacity is 10+1 with the included factory steel magazine, and the original box end label confirms the Catalog No. RST4 and 4.75" barrel.

Manufactured in 1963 in the United States, this example presents as a well-documented Standard series pistol with its original RST4 box; the included booklet is an earlier factory manual (Revised October 1, 1952) rather than 1963-era literature; it is the generic Standard/Mark I manual and is not variant-coded.
