Built by Inland Division of General Motors in the United States during WWII, this 1944 M1 Carbine reflects period-correct features and markings. The receiver ring is marked "U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M1," and the rifle uses the proven short-stroke gas piston with rotating bolt action.
Early-configuration elements include the narrow barrel band without a bayonet lug, a two-rivet upper handguard, and an oval sling/oiler slot in the hardwood stock. The bolt is the later round type adopted mid–late WWII for increased strength. The stock and handguard have an oil finish consistent with the era, and the metal components wear a Parkerized finish.
The rifle has an 18-inch barrel and an approximate overall length of 35.6 inches, with a 13.0-inch length of pull. It is equipped with iron sights: the front sight housing with protective ears is present and pinned to the barrel, but the central blade/post is missing; the rear sight is an adjustable aperture with a windage knob and elevation slide.
This carbine accepts standard M1/M2 magazines. One 30-round curved steel magazine is included, aligning with the listed 30+1 capacity.
A non-standard rectangular mounting block is installed under the barrel, secured by six fasteners (three per side). This custom component is not part of the original configuration and is noted here as installed.
