Product Description

Smith & Wesson Model 34-1 Kit Gun .22 LR, 2 inch J-Frame Revolver, Blued, Adjustable Sights, 6-Shot

This Smith & Wesson Model 34-1 Kit Gun is a blued, steel J-frame .22 LR revolver from the 1970s with a 2 inch barrel and adjustable sights. It features a six-shot fluted cylinder, round-butt grip frame with checkered walnut service stocks, and a smooth, narrow trigger with a checkered hammer spur. The bore is excellent, and the revolver carries the correct factory markings, including "MOD 34-1" in the yoke cut.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Good condition, showing some signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Excellent - Clean, mirror finish, no signs of wear.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

Specific Condition Notes: The revolver is solid, with cosmetic wear that includes scratches, small blemishes, and areas of finish loss on the blued surfaces.

    What’s Included

    • Brown leather belt holster with snap retention straps

The Model 34-1 is the steel-framed version of S&W’s compact Kit Gun, built on the J-frame and chambered in .22 LR. This example has the desirable 2 inch barrel for easy carry and a six-shot fluted cylinder, combining compact dimensions with practical capacity.

It uses a double-action/single-action system with a smooth, narrow trigger and an exposed, checkered hammer spur. The topstrap is serrated, and the ejector rod is the classic exposed, knurled style without a shroud.

Sights are target-focused for a small-frame revolver: a serrated ramp front and a micrometer-adjustable square-notch rear, allowing precise zeroing with .22 LR loads.

Original details include checkered walnut service stocks with S&W medallions, a blued finish on the frame and cylinder, and a round-butt grip frame. Factory rollmarks and stamps are present: "SMITH & WESSON." on the left barrel, ".22 L.R. CTG." on the right barrel, the S&W trademark on the left sideplate, the Springfield, Mass. legend on the right sideplate, and "MOD 34-1" in the yoke cut. Assembly numbers are present in the yoke area.

Made in the United States during the 1973–1977 production window, this 1970s-era Kit Gun reflects the classic small-frame S&W configuration in carbon steel with a blued finish.
