Sight setup includes a pinned ramp front sight with a red/orange insert and a fully adjustable square-notch rear sight, giving precise point-of-aim adjustment. The exposed hammer features a checkered spur for confident cocking in single-action use.
Controls and features include double-action/single-action operation, a smooth-face trigger, and the keyed internal lock that is characteristic of the -6 revision. The brushed stainless finish and stainless-steel construction provide a durable, straightforward working surface.
Grip and marking details include a black rubber finger-groove monogrip with S&W medallions. The yoke cut is marked “686-6,” and a yoke/crane assembly number “496” is observed. The frame is marked “MADE IN U.S.A. … SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MA.”
