The CDS9 slide is optics-ready from the factory, using an RMSc/K footprint under a Kimber-branded cover plate. Front and rear grasping serrations with a fish-scale/chevron pattern aid manipulation, while the slide uses an external extractor and trapezoidal slide-rail geometry. Dovetailed steel sights include a TAG FiberLok front and a steel rear sight.
Its 3.18 in deeply crowned stainless barrel pairs with a stainless-steel slide for durability. The aluminum-alloy frame keeps weight down to 20.8 oz empty and incorporates a two-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover. Overall length is 6.2 in with an approximate width of 1.16 in.
Controls are set up for confident handling: single-action, recoil-operated system with a crisp trigger, a reversible magazine release, and an external bobbed hammer. Safety features include an ambidextrous thumb safety, sear disconnect, firing-pin block, and a hammer safety notch.
