This Smith & Wesson Model 640-3 Centennial is a stainless J-frame revolver chambered in .357 Magnum with a 2.125 inch barrel and full underlug. It is a double-action-only design with an enclosed hammer, fixed sights, and an internal lock. The revolver is fitted with Hogue Monogrip rubber grips and is in very good overall condition with an excellent bore. A leather IWB holster is included.

The 640-3 is an all-stainless, five-shot J-frame built for durability and straightforward function. This example uses a 2.125 inch stainless steel barrel with a full underlug, paired with a stainless frame and cylinder in a satin/brushed stainless finish.
Its Centennial configuration features a double-action-only mechanism with an enclosed hammer. The revolver includes Smith & Wesson’s internal lock and is chambered in .357 Magnum with a 5-round capacity.
Sighting is fixed, with a pinned black ramp front sight and a rear topstrap trench. A checkered S&W cylinder release latch provides positive manipulation.
Ergonomics are enhanced by the installed Hogue Monogrip rubber grips with finger grooves. Markings include “Model 640-3” on the yoke, a barrel rollmark “S&W .357 MAGNUM.”, and a frame rollmark “MADE IN U.S.A. … SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” This revolver was made in the United States.
