The Essex Arms frame is matched with a Colt M1991A1 Series 80 slide and Colt .45 ACP barrel, creating a custom, full-size Government-length build. The slide carries factory-style rollmarks, including "COLT M1991A1" on the left and "SERIES 80" on the right. The barrel hood is marked "COLT 45 AUTO."
Controls and operation follow the 1911 pattern with a single-action-only trigger. Safety features are consistent with the Series 80 design and include a grip safety and firing pin safety; some external safeties or controls may be incomplete on this example. The trigger is a long, skeletonized match-style design with lightening holes, and the hammer is the Commander/rowel style.
Sighting equipment is GI-style and fixed, with a staked front blade and a low-profile square-notch rear. The slide uses rear vertical cocking serrations. The barrel is steel and uses a traditional bushing setup, and the recoil spring plug has a checkered face.
Cosmetically, it presents a two-tone configuration with a matte dark slide over a matte silver frame. The grips are checkered black panels with Rampant Colt medallions.
