What’s Included
- Smith & Wesson Model 940-1 Centennial 9mm revolver
The Model 940-1 is built on the compact J-frame with an enclosed-hammer Centennial configuration and a double-action-only trigger system. Its five-shot cylinder is purpose-cut for full moon clips to reliably chamber and extract 9mm Luger.
The revolver is all stainless steel, including the frame, barrel, and cylinder. It has a 2-inch barrel with a short underlug and a knurled ejector rod tip for positive manipulation. The smooth-face trigger complements the DAO setup.
Sighting is straightforward and durable, with a fixed topstrap rear gutter and a ramped, serrated front blade. The factory black rubber boot-style grips provide a compact profile and positive purchase.
Rollmarks include "MADE IN U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS.," "SMITH & WESSON" on the left side of the barrel, "9MM PARABELLUM" on the right side of the barrel, and the S&W crest on the left sideplate. This 940-1 variant is noted for having no internal lock.
