The LCP II uses Ruger’s single-action, internal-hammer Secure Action system with a locked-breech, recoil-operated slide. It includes a trigger safety and a left-side, push-button magazine release. The slide locks back on an empty magazine for clear status confirmation.
Construction centers on a one-piece aluminum chassis with integral rails housed within a durable glass-filled nylon grip frame. The frame has molded texturing and a raised beavertail for control. The black oxide slide carries front and rear diagonal serrations, and the non-dovetailed, integral sights are machined directly into the slide.
Its micro profile is built for ease of carry, measuring just 0.91 in in overall width with an unloaded weight of 10.6 oz and a 2.75 in barrel. The slide is designed to be easy to rack, with serrations that provide positive purchase.
Capacity is 6+1 in .380 ACP, and this example includes a Ruger steel 6-round magazine with a finger-extension floorplate. Identified as Ruger part number 3750, it was manufactured in Prescott, Arizona, USA, in 2017.
