The Platypus 17 Comp combines a 1911-style, single-action-only trigger system with Glock-pattern double-stack magazine compatibility for a 17+1 capacity in 9mm Luger. The frame is CNC-machined from one piece of 7075-T6 aluminum and features a hand-lapped slide-to-frame fit, contributing to the precise, uniform cycling this model is known for.
The slide uses the Stealth Arms Trident style with top lightening windows, rear cocking serrations, and a lowered and flared ejection port. An integrated single-port compensator is machined as part of the Government-length 5-inch configuration. Sighting is straightforward with a green fiber-optic front blade paired with a rear sight.
The full-length dust cover carries a Picatinny accessory rail for light or laser attachment. Ergonomics include a square, undercut trigger guard, a flared magazine well/funnel for faster reloads, and prickle-texture grips. Controls are set up with an ambidextrous thumb safety and an extended beavertail grip safety.
Factory features continue with a skeletonized trigger and a skeletonized rowel hammer. This pistol is marked and manufactured in Celina, Ohio, United States, and accepts OEM Glock-pattern double-stack 9mm magazines with Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 compatibility. Three 17-round magazines are included.
