Manufactured between 1908 and 1916, this trade-name shotgun is associated with Crescent Fire Arms Co., a H. & D. Folsom Arms subsidiary in Norwich, Connecticut. The receiver is marked "Long Tom," and the barrel carries the "GENUINE ARMORY STEEL" stamp.
The 40" Genuine Armory Steel barrel is set up with no rib and a fixed Full choke, a configuration long favored for extended-range waterfowl and turkey work. It is chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells and configured for a 1-shot capacity.
Operation is a top-lever break with a simple lug-type locking bolt. The external hammer has coarse checkering, and the rebounding hammer provides a built-in safety feature.
Furniture includes a checkered walnut pistol-grip stock and a walnut splinter forend. Sighting is straightforward with a brass bead up front and no rear sight. The metal wears a blued finish over a steel receiver and barrel.
