Crescent Fire Arms Company was founded in the United States in 1892 by George W. Cilley and Frank Foster. It merged with N.R. Davis in 1929 to form Crescent-Davis Arms Corporation, and in 1931 was acquired by Savage Arms, with production moved to the Stevens plant and the Crescent-Davis name appearing in Stevens catalogs into the late 1930s and around 1941. Its legacy is supplying affordable house-brand shotguns to hardware stores and mail-order houses under numerous trade names.
