The receiver is marked "U.S. SMITH-CORONA MOD. '03-A3" and falls within Smith-Corona's 1944 production block. The bolt body presents in-the-white, contrasting the rifle’s overall blued finish. The action is the proven M1903A3 bolt system with an internal 4+1 capacity.
The rifle has been sporterized with an aftermarket walnut stock featuring a Monte Carlo comb and a shadow-line cheekpiece. A ventilated recoil pad with contrasting spacers is installed, and sling swivel studs are fitted. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches.
The barrel is a blued 18.5 inch sporter/heavy-taper replacement. It is unmarked for caliber, and the bore measures .30 caliber. Because the chambering is not marked, it is highly recommended to have a qualified gunsmith perform a chamber cast to determine the exact caliber.
Sighting equipment includes the retained M1903A3 receiver-mounted aperture rear sight with windage and elevation adjustments. The replacement barrel has no front sight base and no front sight installed. The receiver ring is drilled and tapped, with two empty threaded holes.
