What's Included
- Simson Modell 1 12 Gauge side-by-side shotgun
Built in Suhl during the GDR era, this Modell 1 reflects Simson’s postwar production with the triangle "1" first-quality inspection stamp. The rib bears "SIMSON, SUHL (THÜRINGEN)" in a recessed cartouche, while the barrels are marked "SPEZIAL-GEWEHRLAUFSTAHL," underscoring the maker’s designated barrel steel.
The shotgun uses an Anson & Deeley-pattern boxlock action with double triggers. It is a non-ejector configuration with a one-piece extractor, consistent with a practical field setup. Capacity is 2 rounds.
The 28 in steel barrels are blued and topped with a matted game rib. Chambers measure 70 mm (2 3/4 in), and the gun is fitted with a fixed Full (F) choke as reported.
Metalwork shows a blued barrel set and a color case-hardened receiver/frame. The walnut pistol-grip stock is checkered and capped with a Simson triangle-S hard-rubber buttplate. A matching walnut splinter forend with an Anson push-button release complements the configuration. Length of pull is 14.5 in.
