Built on an FN commercial Mauser action, this rifle offers controlled-round feed with a long claw extractor—features valued for reliability when hunting big game. The bolt body is polished in-the-white, contrasting the high-polish blued receiver and barrel for a classic look.
The hand-cut scroll engraving on the floorplate and trigger guard adds factory artistry uncommon on today’s production rifles. Belgian Perron, ELG, and other Liège proofmarks, plus the date-letter φ, confirm 1961 manufacture.
The walnut stock sports a Monte Carlo comb and right-hand cheek-piece, with crisp cut checkering for a secure grip. Sling swivel studs are factory installed, and the Browning hard-rubber buttplate maintains the period-correct profile.
Sighting equipment includes a ramp front sight with dovetailed blade; the rear barrel-mounted leaf/ramp sight has been removed, making room for the installed scope base. The 22-inch barrel keeps overall length to about 42.5 inches, balancing well for field carry.
