Springfield mates a 416R stainless, Melonite-treated 7.5" barrel to a pinned low-profile gas block, capped with a forward blast diverter that directs concussion away from the shooter while preserving compact length.
The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard eliminates contact with the barrel for consistent accuracy and integrates an aluminum hand-stop for secure indexing on short barrels.
Forged upper and lower receivers are tightened with Springfield’s Accu-Tite tension set-screw to minimize receiver play, and both wear a durable Type III hard-coat anodized finish.
