Smith & Wesson M&P15 5.56 NATO AR-15 Rifle, 16" Barrel, TL-Prefix Early Production
This Smith & Wesson M&P15 is an early, TL-prefix rifle produced entirely in-house by S&W. Built on forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers and a 4140 carbon-steel barrel, it offers dependable AR-15 performance in a lightweight, MIL-SPEC compatible platform. Faint handling marks are the only indications of prior use, leaving the rifle in excellent overall shape with a mirror-bright bore and crisp rifling.

What’s Included
- Amend2 30-round polymer STANAG magazine
- Smith & Wesson M&P15 Safety & Instruction Manual
The 16-inch barrel is threaded 1/2-28 and fitted with the factory flash suppressor, ready for muzzle devices or suppressor use. Its 1:9 right-hand twist stabilizes common 55–62 grain 5.56 NATO loads, making the rifle versatile for range or defensive roles.
The upper receiver carries a numbered MIL-STD-1913 top rail with clear “S&W” markings, simplifying repeatable optic mounting. A fixed A2 front sight post pairs with the included Magpul MBUS flip-up rear sight for reliable iron-sight alignment right out of the box.
The carbine-length ribbed polymer handguard keeps weight down while shielding the shooter from barrel heat. A bayonet lug and front sling swivel remain intact on the A2 sight base, preserving full M4 accessory compatibility.
Controls follow the proven AR-15 layout: a manual safety selector, bolt catch, and magazine release are all placed for intuitive use. The six-position telescoping stock and A2 pistol grip provide adaptable ergonomics for shooters of different sizes and gear setups.
