Colt Mustang Plus II Mk IV Series 80 .380 ACP – 1988 First-Year Production Compact Pistol, 7+1 Capacity
Manufactured in 1988, this Colt Mustang Plus II represents the very first year of the extended-grip variant. Built on a fully blued carbon-steel frame and slide, it combines pocket-sized dimensions with a 7-round magazine that gives it a capacity edge over the original Mustang. Collectors value the Plus II for its limited production run (1988-1997) and its Series 80 firing-pin safety system, which adds an extra layer of mechanical security without altering the clean, single-action trigger Colt fans expect.

What’s Included
- Colt Mustang Plus II pistol
- 2 Colt 7-round steel magazines
- Colt factory burgundy cardboard pistol box
- Original Colt Mustang Plus II instruction manual
The Plus II lengthens the Mustang’s grip frame just enough to accept a flush-fit 7-round magazine, giving shooters a full three-finger purchase without sacrificing concealability. This example retains its factory blued finish on both frame and slide, complemented by black checkered synthetic grips with gold Colt medallions.
A 2.75-inch carbon-steel barrel, polished feed ramp, and single-action-only lockwork provide the crisp break and accuracy the Mustang line is known for. Rear slide serrations offer positive purchase when charging the pistol.
Safety is handled by a left-side thumb safety and Colt’s Series 80 firing-pin block. Together they allow the pistol to be carried "cocked and locked" while preventing inertial discharge if dropped.
Fixed iron sights—ramped front blade and dovetailed rear notch—deliver a low-profile sight picture ideal for a compact defensive sidearm. The spur hammer, short trigger reach, and extended grip make the Plus II comfortable for shooters with larger hands.
