The Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C brings a fully modern feature set to the compact 9mm class. Its serialized Central Operating Group chassis makes the pistol modular, while a Variable Interface System milled into the slide lets you mount more than 30 popular red-dot footprints without plates. Hammer-forged steel, a black Melonite finish, and ambidextrous controls round out a striker-fired design that earned Guns & Ammo’s 2023 Handgun of the Year and an NTOA Gold rating in 2025.

The heart of the Echelon is its modular Central Operating Group, a serialized chassis that can transfer between different grip modules for easy customization and future upgrades.
Springfield’s Variable Interface System cuts the slide directly for more than 30 micro red-dot sights, keeping optics low to the bore while avoiding extra adapter plates.
Fully ambidextrous slide stops and a reversible magazine release come installed from the factory, giving right- and left-handed shooters the same ergonomic controls.
The 4 in. hammer-forged barrel uses a 1:10 twist and a Melonite treatment for corrosion resistance and longevity, paired with a black Melonite slide that wears front & rear cocking serrations.
Tritium/luminescent U-Dot sights provide a bright front ring and a tactical rack U-notch rear, delivering clear day-night aiming without the need for an immediate optic.
