The FNX-9 operates on a traditional double-action/single-action system, complete with an external ring hammer and an ambidextrous safety/decocker. This configuration lets the shooter carry with the hammer down for a smooth double-action first pull, or cocked and locked for a light single-action start.
Controls are fully ambidextrous—magazine release, slide stop, and safety/decocker—making the pistol equally convenient for right- or left-handed shooters without aftermarket modifications.
The 4-inch stainless steel barrel is cold hammer forged for long life and consistent accuracy, while the matte black slide carries forward and rear cocking serrations for confident manipulation. An external extractor doubles as a loaded chamber indicator for quick visual status checks.
A MIL-STD-1913 rail molded into the polymer frame accepts lights or lasers. The stippled grip includes four total backstrap sizes, allowing quick adjustment to individual hand shapes.
Fixed three-dot white sights provide a clear, durable sight picture. Combined with the pistol’s full-size frame and 17+1 capacity, the FNX-9 is ready for extended range sessions or duty use.
