Introduced in 2010 and still cataloged today, the PA-459 TR is Weatherby’s dedicated Threat Response model. It is built in Turkey by ATA Arms on a lightweight aluminum-alloy receiver finished in durable matte black.
The 18.5-inch steel barrel is chrome-lined for corrosion resistance, threaded for the included ported cylinder choke/flash hider, and chambered for both 2 ¾- and 3-inch shells. This setup offers flexibility in ammunition choice while maintaining a compact overall length.
Sighting is fast thanks to a ghost-ring rear aperture paired with a wing-protected fiber-optic front blade. A Picatinny rail on the receiver and an underside rail on the polymer forend provide mounting points for lights, lasers, or other accessories.
The synthetic stock features an ergonomic pistol grip and a 13.5-inch length of pull, giving most shooters a solid, controllable stance. Capacity is 4+1 with 3-inch shells or 5+1 with 2 ¾-inch shells, making the shotgun suitable for home defense roles.
