The 24 inch heavy-profile barrel is fully rifled with a recessed crown and an unthreaded muzzle, designed for slug accuracy and durability. The rifled bore, combined with the 3 inch chamber, provides strong compatibility with modern 20 Gauge slug loads.
The action is a single-shot break-action with an external hammer and a single trigger. A key feature is the barrel-mounted scope rail, which preserves zero independently of the break-action receiver. The gun is configured with no open sights, ready for a user-installed optic on the rail.
The laminated hardwood stock and beavertail forend feature a multicolor finish with pressed checkering for confident handling. An H&R logo rubber recoil pad, sling swivel studs, and a 14.25 inch length of pull round out the stock setup. The trigger guard is polymer.
The steel barrel and receiver wear a matte black finish. The receiver is marked "Manufactured in Ilion, NY, U.S.A." This full-size Ultra Slug is built in the USA and configured for 1-round capacity.
