This Model 504 pairs a heavy 6-inch carbon steel barrel with a full-length serrated top rib, a serrated ramp front sight, and an adjustable square-notch rear sight with windage and elevation screws. The sighting setup is straightforward and serviceable for precise aiming.
The revolver is double-action/single-action with an exposed hammer and serrated spur, and it incorporates a transfer-bar safety. Its steel frame and cylinder wear a uniform blued finish for a classic H&R appearance.
Chambered for .32 H&R Magnum, the 5-shot swing-out cylinder also accepts .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long. The cylinder release is the H&R-style under-barrel plunger/latch, consistent with the company’s design of the era.
Factory markings include “MODEL 504 32 H&R MAG MADE IN USA” and “H & R INC., GARDNER, MASS. U.S.A.” Built in the United States during the 1980s, the Model 504 had a short production lifespan, positioning it as a distinct entry in H&R’s late-production lineup.
