Built on the AR-15 platform, the M&P-15T uses a gas-operated direct impingement system and a manual selector safety with SAFE/FIRE positions. The flat-top upper includes a full-length Picatinny top rail, with an ejection port dust cover and brass deflector present.
The handguard is a 4-sided Picatinny quad-rail with lightening holes and rail-position index markings, giving you ample rail space for mounting compatible accessories. The handguard is marked "MILITARY & POLICE" and features the Smith & Wesson monogram.
This rifle is equipped with rail-mounted folding iron sights, including a folding front sight and a folding rear sight. Up front, it wears an A2-style birdcage flash suppressor on a threaded barrel.
