The P2000 V3 configuration provides a traditional DA/SA trigger with a rear-mounted decocker, giving the user a controlled first shot and a consistent single-action follow-up. An exposed spur-type hammer and rear cocking serrations support confident handling and manipulation.
The 3.6 inch cold hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling, a hallmark HK feature designed for durability and service life. The compact slide wears HK's Hostile Environment finish for corrosion resistance in varied conditions.
Controls are fully ambidextrous where it matters: a paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release and ambidextrous slide stop/release make the pistol adaptable to either hand. The frame integrates an accessory rail on the dustcover with a single cross-slot.
Ergonomics are configurable via the included interchangeable backstraps on the fiber-reinforced polymer frame. Sights consist of a front post with a single white dot and a low-profile square-notch rear for a clean, snag-resistant sight picture.
This German-made example carries DE and CIP N proof marks and the HKI Columbus, GA importer mark. Notably, the P2000 platform was selected for DHS/ICE procurement after testing announced in 2004, and per HK, it is compatible with USP Compact magazines.
