This Yugoslav M48 Mauser rifle was produced by Preduzece Crvena Zastava during the 1950s–1960s and features the Yugoslav state crest over M48 with factory and national markings. Built on a Mauser 98-pattern intermediate-length action and chambered in 8mm Mauser, it retains a classic blued finish over steel with a hardwood stock. The bore is excellent, and the rifle includes its under-barrel cleaning rod along with a knife bayonet and steel scabbard. An import mark from Century Arms International (Georgia, VT) confirms its U.S. entry.

The M48 uses a Mauser 98-pattern intermediate-length action with a turned-down bolt handle. The bolt body is left in-the-white, providing a period-correct contrast against the blued receiver and barrel. Feeding is via a 5-round internal box magazine with stripper-clip capability.
Barrel length is 23.25 inches, paired with iron sights consisting of a hooded post front and a tangent V-notch rear sight adjustable to 2000 meters. This sighting arrangement reflects the rifle’s post-war service configuration.
The hardwood stock features a straight comb and semi-pistol grip, with a left-side butt sling slot and a flat steel buttplate. An upper handguard and the installed cleaning rod complete the classic M48 furniture and hardware set.
Markings include the Yugoslav state crest over M48, the ПРЕДУЗЕЋЕ 44 (Preduzeće 44) factory marking, and the ФНРЈ stamp, along with the CAI GEORGIA VT 8MM import mark. The steel receiver and components wear a blued finish consistent with the model’s production era.
