This Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C is a compact, striker-fired 9mm built by HS Produkt in Croatia and imported by Springfield Armory. It features the VIS direct-mount, optics-ready slide, a 4.00-inch Melonite-treated hammer-forged barrel, fully ambidextrous controls, and steel U-Dot sights. This example is in excellent condition and ships with both 15- and 18-round magazines, plus interchangeable backstraps for fit tuning.

The 4.0C platform centers on a removable Central Operating Group (COG), a stainless-steel serialized chassis that provides a robust foundation while allowing the polymer grip module to be tailored with interchangeable backstraps and aggressive texturing. The compact frame integrates a 4-slot Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover.
The slide is finished in black Melonite and cut with front and rear serrations for confident manipulation. Under the removable cover plate is Springfield’s VIS direct-mount interface, making the pistol optics-ready. Steel U-Dot sights come standard, pairing a tritium/luminescent green-dot front with a Tactical Rack U-notch rear.
Controls are truly ambidextrous: the slide stop is mirrored on both sides, and the magazine release is ambidextrous/reversible. A flat-faced trigger and trigger safety round out the striker-fired action, providing a consistent feel. Capacity is 18+1 with the extended magazine and 15+1 with the flush-fit option; both supplied magazines are steel, double-stack, with the extended magazine using a grip sleeve.
The 4.00-inch barrel is hammer-forged steel with a Melonite treatment and a 1:10 twist. This model bears the “HS PRODUKT – MADE IN CROATIA” marking, reflecting its Croatian manufacture and Springfield Armory import. Matching serial markings appear on the frame, barrel hood, and factory test target. Notably, the Echelon 4.0C platform earned an NTOA Member Tested & Recommended Gold ranking in 2025.
