The 8.5-inch barrel is 416R stainless steel with a Melonite treatment and a 1:7 twist, marked 5.56 NATO 1/7. It is threaded and fitted with a compact forward blast diverter. A low-profile pinned gas block and heavy tungsten buffer complement the pistol-length build for reliable operation with 5.56 NATO ammunition.
The upper is a flat-top Picatinny design with T-markings and includes a forward assist, brass deflector, and SAINT-marked dust cover. The receivers are 7075-T6 aluminum with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish, and Springfield’s Accu-Tite tension system is installed to reduce play between the upper and lower.
Internals include an M16-pattern Carpenter 158 steel bolt carrier group that is MPI inspected, shot-peened, and Melonite finished. The trigger is a single-stage, nickel-boron coated GI-style unit with a standard safety selector.
The free-float M-LOK handguard features an integral forward hand stop. The brace is a rigid-shell, non-adjustable design with a Velcro strap, paired with a textured polymer pistol grip. The pistol accepts AR-15/M4 magazines and carries Springfield Armory SAINT rollmarks and crest logo.
