The 16 inch barrel is cold hammer-forged from 4140 chrome-moly steel and cut to a medium contour. It is marked "5.56 NATO 1-8" and threaded 1/2-28, with the factory Ruger birdcage flash suppressor installed.
Sighting is classic and practical: a fixed A2-style pinned front sight base with integral sling loop pairs with the Ruger Rapid Deploy spring-loaded flip-up rear sight. The flat-top Picatinny upper provides a continuous mounting surface.
The receivers are forged 7075-T6 aluminum with Type III hard-coat anodizing. The upper includes a forward assist, shell deflector, and ejection-port cover. The carbine-length gas system is paired with round, two-piece ribbed polymer handguards featuring the Ruger medallion and a twist-type delta ring.
The stock is a 6-position M4-style adjustable synthetic unit with an approximate length of pull range from 10 inches to 13.25 inches. A Ruger-branded polymer pistol grip completes the control layout.
This rifle was manufactured in 2017 (MFG Part No. 8500) and carries the "RUGER MAYODAN, NC USA" rollmark with serial prefix 854-. It uses the STANAG magazine interface for a 30+1 capacity and includes two Magpul PMAG magazines.
