The V3 configuration delivers DA/SA operation with a rear-mounted decocking button and an exposed hammer. Controls include a paddle-style ambidextrous magazine release and an easily accessible slide release. An extractor-based loaded-chamber indicator with a red witness mark provides a visual and tactile status check.
The 3.66 in cold-hammer-forged barrel uses polygonal rifling, and the short-recoil, Browning-type linkless tilting barrel system is standard for the model. The slide wears HK's Hostile Environment (nitrocarburized) finish and features rear cocking serrations only. Factory 3-dot tritium night sights include a TRU DOT tritium front blade.
The glass-fiber-reinforced polymer frame offers interchangeable backstraps and molded texturing for a configurable grip. A standard accessory rail on the dust cover supports compatible lights. Capacity is 12+1 with the included 12-round magazines.
Markings confirm German manufacture and proofing: German eagle/N nitro proof and the Ulm antler proof, plus the AG date code (2006). The pistol is marked Made in Germany and bears the HKI–Trussville, AL import stamp.
