Product Description

Remington M1903A3 .30-06 Bolt-Action Rifle, 24-inch Barrel, WWII 1943 Production, Walnut Stock, Receiver Sight Base Present, Includes Weaver 330 Scope (Uninstalled)

This Remington M1903A3 is a 1943 U.S. WWII-production .30-06 service rifle with a military-style configuration, including a full-length walnut stock, upper handguard, and a receiver-mounted rear sight base. It is marked "U.S. REMINGTON MODEL 03-A3" on the receiver ring and comes with a period Weaver 330 riflescope with rings included separately. The 330 is closely related to the M73B1 used on the M1903A4, adding notable historical context to the package.

    Condition

Overall Condition: Fair condition, showing extensive signs of prior use and handling.

Bore Condition: Fair - Generally clean, some residue or smudges, slight corrosion.

Bore Rifling: Fair Rifling - Worn rifling, slight loss of definition.

Specific Condition Notes: The original grey-green parkerized finish shows significant wear with bare metal on high edges, the bolt handle, and the trigger guard, along with light surface freckling or staining. The walnut stock has numerous dings and scratches from use. The rifling is visible but the grooves appear dark or frosted. The front sight assembly (pinned base and blade) is not present. The rear sight components are incomplete.

    What’s Included

    • W.R. Weaver Model 330 riflescope (uninstalled; attached rings present; missing mount)

Made by Remington in 1943, this M1903A3 reflects WWII-era U.S. service rifle production. The receiver ring is marked "U.S. REMINGTON MODEL 03-A3," confirming manufacturer and model. It retains the military pattern with a full-length walnut stock, upper handguard, and steel hardware throughout.

The rifle is chambered in .30-06 Springfield and uses a military-contour 24-inch barrel. Feeding is through an internal 5-round staggered-box magazine designed for charger (stripper-clip) loading, with a 5+1 maximum capacity.

Sight setup includes the receiver-mounted rear sight base with protective ears; rear sight components are incomplete. The front sight assembly (pinned-on base with protective ears and replaceable blade) is absent. The fore-end/front band incorporates a bayonet lug and stacking swivel, and the lower band provides the sling swivel.

Stock features include a straight-grip, full-length military stock with an upper handguard and a steel buttplate with a trapdoor. Length of pull measures 13.5 inches, offering a traditional service-rifle fit.

Included with the rifle is a W.R. Weaver Model 330 riflescope with attached rings, provided separately and not installed. The 330’s close relation to the M73B1 used on the M1903A4 gives this package added historical interest while leaving the rifle in its current configuration.
