The SR1911 platform here is the classic full-size configuration with a 5 inch stainless steel barrel and matching stainless bushing, both made from the same bar stock. The slide and frame wear a low-glare bead-blast stainless finish, with rear slide serrations and a lowered, flared ejection port for consistent extraction and ejection.
Its Series 70-style lockwork pairs a titanium firing pin with an extra-power firing pin spring. Ruger builds this model with an integral (non-staked) plunger tube and a checkered flat mainspring housing for reliable control and longevity.
Controls and ergonomics include a beavertail grip safety and a left-side thumb safety. The skeletonized rowel hammer and skeletonized trigger with over-travel adjustment contribute to a clean, familiar 1911 single-action pull.
Sight picture is provided by fixed Novak-pattern 3-dot sights, with a dovetailed front blade and a low-mount, drift-adjustable rear. A visual inspection port offers a quick chamber check.
Factory hardwood double-diamond grip panels with Ruger medallions complete the traditional look. This pistol was manufactured in 2013 as Ruger Model 06700 and comes with one 8-round and one 7-round factory magazine for an 8+1 onboard capacity.
