FN Herstal Mauser Sporter .308 Win Bolt-Action Rifle, Belgian Commercial 98-Pattern, 19.5 in Barrel, Blued/Polished Steel/Walnut
This post-WWII FN Herstal Mauser Sporter is chambered in .308 Win and built on a commercial 98-pattern controlled-round-feed action. It features a 19.5-inch barrel, a blued barrel with a receiver largely polished in the white (the top of the front ring and rear bridge retain dark finish), and a walnut sporter stock with a recoil pad and white-line spacer. The receiver is drilled and tapped; the scope-base holes are open with no filler screws installed, and the internal box magazine holds four rounds.
The action incorporates a full-length non-rotating claw extractor, a third safety lug, and gas-escape ports on the bolt body. Right-side ejection and a bolt shroud safety round out the classic Mauser operating system. There are no iron sights installed.
The walnut stock has a pistol grip and sling swivel eyes, with a 13.5-inch length of pull. The rifle has been sporterized, presenting a clean, streamlined hunting configuration with practical handling characteristics.
Metalwork presents a traditional contrast with a blued barrel alongside a receiver that is largely polished in the white (with remaining blue on the top of the ring and bridge), and a bolt body, handle, and shroud polished in the white. The internal box magazine uses a hinged floorplate and provides a 4-round capacity in .308 Win.
