The FN America SCAR 17S is a 7.62x51 NATO, short-stroke gas piston rifle built with a cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined 16.25-inch barrel and a monolithic T-marked Picatinny top rail. This example features ambidextrous controls, a side-folding telescoping stock with adjustable length of pull, and flip-up iron sights. It comes with one 20-round steel magazine and a detachable Picatinny rail section for the forend, and bears FN Columbia, SC USA receiver roll marks.

Specific Condition Notes: The upper receiver is slightly bent at the area by the lower handguard. The handguard will still fit, but a small gap between the rail and receiver will be present. The original screws that secure the lower handguard are not included and will need to be sourced for installation. Exterior surfaces show scratches and blemishes.

Chambered in 7.62x51 NATO, the SCAR 17S uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system with an adjustable gas regulator. This configuration supports reliable operation with the platform’s standard 20-round magazine capacity.
The 16.25-inch steel barrel is cold hammer-forged and chrome-lined with a 1:12 RH twist. The barrel roll mark reads "MP [FN logo] 7.62 x 51MM 1/12." Rifling presents with sharp lands and grooves as noted in the bore assessment.
The rifle employs an aluminum upper receiver and polymer lower, finished in matte black. A monolithic T-marked Picatinny top rail runs the length of the receiver, with accessory rail sections at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions on the forend. Included is a detachable Picatinny rail section for the forend.
Factory flip-up iron sights are installed, with a folding front sight on the gas block and a flip-up rear aperture sight. Controls include an ambidextrous safety and ambidextrous magazine release. The polymer pistol grip complements the platform’s ergonomic layout.
The side-folding, telescoping stock features a rubber buttpad and adjustable length of pull. Overall length is approximately 38.5 inches extended and about 28.5 inches folded/collapsed. Unloaded weight is approximately 8.0 pounds. Receiver markings include "FN COLUMBIA, SC USA," "SCAR 17S cal. 7.62x51," and the FN oval logo.
