The rifle includes a side-folding, telescoping black polymer stock with adjustable length of pull, a reciprocating left-side charging handle, and factory folding iron sights. A Magpul AFG angled foregrip is installed, and one 20-round SCAR 17 pattern steel magazine is included.

The SCAR 17S uses a semi-automatic, short-stroke gas piston system and is chambered in 7.62x51 NATO (7.62mm NATO). The receiver is marked FN Columbia, South Carolina, USA, and the rifle carries a 20+1 capacity using proprietary SCAR-17 pattern magazines.
The 16-inch barrel is magnetic particle inspected and cut with a 1:12 twist. It is threaded and fitted with a multi-port muzzle brake/compensator. This configuration supports reliable performance with standard 7.62 NATO loads.
Ergonomics include a reciprocating left-side charging handle and a polymer stock that side-folds and telescopes. Length of pull is adjustable to approximately 12.0 to 14.5 inches, and the textured buttpad provides a secure shoulder interface. A polymer pistol grip is standard.
The monolithic upper integrates a full-length T-marked Picatinny top rail, and the fore-end provides side and bottom Picatinny rails. Factory folding iron sights are included, with a flip-up front and a flip-up rear sight with drum. A Magpul AFG angled foregrip is installed on the 6 o'clock rail.
