The 16.1-inch barrel is cold hammer-forged from 4140 chrome-moly steel with a medium contour for durability and consistent performance. It uses a 1:8 RH twist to stabilize a broad range of common 5.56 loads and is threaded 1/2-28 with an A2 flash suppressor.
A carbine-length gas system with a pinned front sight base provides a solid foundation for the fixed A2-style front sight tower. The rifle includes Ruger’s Rapid Deploy flip-up polymer rear sight for immediate use out of the box.
The receivers are forged from 7075-T6 aluminum and feature hard-coat anodizing beneath the OD green finish. Furniture includes a 6-position collapsible M4-style stock in OD green and a textured rubber finger-groove pistol grip for a secure hold.
The two-piece ribbed carbine-length handguard is made from glass-filled nylon for strength and heat resistance. The rifle accepts STANAG pattern magazines and has a 30+1 capacity. Overall length is approximately 32.25–35.5 inches with a weight of about 6.5 pounds.
Manufactured in 2019 at Ruger’s Mayodan, North Carolina facility, this AR-15 platform rifle uses a semi-automatic, direct impingement action and is finished in OD green for a distinctive, uniform appearance.
