Built in 1987, it features a blued steel slide over a black-anodized aluminum-alloy frame, a 3.25 in bushing barrel, locked-breech design, and Series 80 safety system. It comes with the Colt factory maroon box, the original Colt manual, and two 7-round magazines.

The MK IV/Series 80 Government Model .380 uses a compact 1911 platform with a locked-breech action and a 3.25 in bushing barrel. It is single-action only and offers a 7+1 capacity in .380 ACP, with an overall length of approximately 6.5 in and an unloaded weight of about 21.75 oz.
Construction features an aluminum-alloy frame with a black anodized finish and a blued steel slide. The slide has rear vertical cocking serrations, and the pistol is fitted with a Commander-style ring hammer. Sights are fixed, with a ramped blade front and a low square-notch rear.
Controls and safeties follow the 1911 pattern, including a thumb safety and grip safety, plus the Series 80 firing-pin block. Grips are black checkered synthetic panels with silver Colt medallions, providing a secure hold.
This example was manufactured in 1987 in the United States and includes two steel single-stack 7-round magazines. The original Colt maroon box features an end label noting "Government Model .380 Auto," blue finish, and 3.25 in barrel length, and the factory manual is included.
