The P17’s factory-threaded hardened-steel barrel measures 3.8" and uses a 1:14 RH twist. It ships with a standard muzzle nut.
A hybrid slide pairs a hardened-steel core with a polymer slide cover secured by top screws. Rear serrations aid manipulation, while the glass-reinforced nylon frame with KelTec "gator grip" texturing provides a sure hold. The black finish and compact size make the pistol easy to carry and store.
The hammer-fired, single-action, straight blowback system keeps operation simple. Controls include an ambidextrous manual safety and a paddle-style magazine release. Sights are straightforward to use, with a fiber-optic front and an adjustable rear notch to fine-tune point of impact.
Capacity is 17+1, and this example includes five factory 17-round magazines for extended range sessions. Markings include "KEL-TEC CNC INC., COCOA FL, MADE IN USA" and the patent number "US 10,184,738 B1." Original MSRP was $199.
