This Springfield Armory EMP in .40 S&W is a micro-size 1911 built on the EMP series, which was scaled specifically for 9 mm/.40 S&W with redesigned components and a shorter front-to-back grip dimension for improved reach. It features a 3.0 in bushingless bull, ramped, fully supported barrel, Trijicon 3-dot tritium night sights, and a two-tone look with a matte stainless slide over a black forged aluminum-alloy frame with a hardcoat anodized finish. Capacity is 8+1.

Bore Rifling: Excellent Rifling - Sharp lands and grooves.

The EMP platform delivers a compact 1911 form factor with components engineered for 9 mm/.40 S&W. The reduced front-to-back grip dimension shortens trigger reach while maintaining familiar 1911 controls and single-action operation.
The 3.0 in bushingless bull barrel is ramped and fully supported. This barrel configuration is paired with a lowered and flared ejection port and rear slide serrations for practical manipulation.
The pistol wears a matte stainless slide over a black hardcoat anodized forged aluminum-alloy frame for a clean two-tone finish. It includes a flat, checkered mainspring housing, checkered wood grips with laser-etched Springfield Armory logo, a skeletonized rowel hammer, and a skeletonized three-hole trigger. Controls include a left-side thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety with memory pad, and a left-side magazine release.
Trijicon 3-dot tritium night sights are installed, with a tritium front and a rear sight marked H3 11. Capacity is 8+1 in .40 S&W. Made in the USA.
