The M1A Standard stays true to the M14 platform with a gas-operated, short-stroke piston system and rotating bolt, a 22-inch barrel, and a Parkerized steel receiver. It is chambered in .308 Winchester and marked on the heel "US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY," aligning with 1990s Springfield Armory production.
A notable component on this rifle is the TRW-marked USGI operating rod, carrying drawing number 7790186. TRW-produced parts are well-regarded among M14-pattern enthusiasts and add desirable, period-correct U.S. military lineage to the action.
This example is fitted with an aftermarket textured black synthetic stock. The stock includes molded checkering for grip, steel sling swivels, and a ventilated rubber buttpad. A polymer upper handguard completes the durable, low-maintenance furniture set.
Sighting equipment is the M1A/M14 pattern: a non-hooded, adjustable aperture rear sight paired with a protected post front sight integral to the M14-style slotted flash suppressor assembly. The configuration provides a clean, service-style sight picture consistent with the platform’s heritage.
Capacity is 20+1 with M14-pattern box magazines. This rifle includes three 20-round steel M14-pattern magazines plus one 20-round PMAG 20 LR/SR (SR-25/AR-10 pattern) polymer magazine that is not compatible with the M1A/M14 and retains its period Springfield Armory blue/white shipping box, rounding out a complete package from a desirable 1990s production window.
