The SIG516 G3 uses a short-stroke gas piston with four adjustable settings, providing a robust operating system tailored to this model. The upper receiver is factory-marked "SIG516 G3," and the lower is marked "SIG SAUER INC, NEWINGTON, NH, USA."
A dual charging arrangement adds a non-reciprocating side-charging handle while keeping the standard rear T-handle. A bolt-catch extension lever is also fitted for efficient control manipulation.
The 16-inch barrel is threaded and ships with a closed-front, three-slot birdcage-style flash hider. The ejection system is complemented by a forward assist, a case deflector, and an ejection-port dust cover.
The free-float aluminum M-LOK handguard provides M-LOK slots at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock with a continuous Picatinny rail along the top.
