This limited-edition Commander is part of the Wiley Clapp series distributed by TALO, featuring the Series 70 firing system without a firing-pin block. It carries the Colt mfg. part number 04040WC, and examples in this series use a serial format that includes "WC" associated with the Wiley Clapp line.
The 4.25-inch Commander-length configuration uses a National Match barrel in .45 ACP and a single-action 1911 platform with a 7+1 capacity. The slide and frame are matte stainless, with rear cocking serrations only, a rowel (Commander-style) hammer, and a short, solid trigger.
Ergonomics and control surfaces include 25-LPI front-strap and flat mainspring-housing checkering to Pete Single specification, an undercut trigger guard, and a beveled magazine well. Dark laminate Altamont Tactical Oval grip panels with a molded "COLT" logo in the checkering (no metal medallions) provide a secure hold.
Sight configuration consists of a plain black Novak Lo-Mount rear and a brass-bead front sight for fast visibility. Built in the USA, this Commander retains traditional 1911 controls including a thumb safety and grip safety.
