The receiver heel is marked "US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY," and the rifle retains USGI-pattern features including an M14-type gas system. It is fitted with Springfield Armory's AWB-era lugless, slotted M14-style muzzle brake/stabilizer retained with a castle nut. Built on the M14 platform, it comes with seven magazines, a leather M1907-style sling, and a strap-on cheek rest.
