This Government Model retains hallmark Series 70 features: a 5-inch barrel, 7+1 capacity, and carbon-steel construction with a blued finish showing polished flats and matte rounds typical of the era. The slide wears vertical rear cocking serrations and a standard, non-lowered ejection port, paired with fixed GI-style sights.
Its pre-Series 80 design omits a firing-pin block, preserving the original MK IV/Series 70 firing system. The sights are a staked front blade and square-notch rear for the traditional 1911 sight picture.
